ASH WEDNESDAY – FEBRUARY 17, 2010

The holy season of Lent begins this week on Ash Wednesday. Lent is a period of 40 days during which we prepare ourselves to commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through acts of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

We mark the beginning of Lent with the blessing and distribution of ashes which is the mark of our repentance.

Ashes will be blessed and distributed at Epiphany Church at the following times:

Masses celebrated at 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:10 PM and 7:30 PM

Ashes are distributed following the homily.

Ashes will also be blessed and distributed at a

Prayer Service at 3:00 PM

Blessed ashes for the homebound will be available at the conclusion of these services.
